Happy May Day!

Happy May Day to all of my Dear Reader's! I made this little basket just for you!

I wish I could tip toe up to each of your doorways, leave the basket, and ring the bell while I slip away.

I would hide behind the rose bush and watch the delight upon your face!

Every year, for as far back as I can remember, I made a little May Day basket for my Dear Mother.

She lived just down the country lane.

She would open her door in her flowered house dress, always happy to see me.

She would serve me coffee and sweets in her warm and cozy country kitchen.

I miss you Mom.

This basket is also in remembrance of you.

There are Pansies, these are for 'Thoughts'

There are 'Forget me Nots'

There is ivy, this is 'fidelity'

When you hear the doorbell, open the door and this you will find. For you, my Dear Blogger Friends. Thank you

And Happy May Day!

  2. A very happy May Day to you, too, Karen. As children we made May baskets and hung them on our neighbours' doors. It's such a wonderful tradition, and lovely that you carried it on with your mother. Thank you so much for my May Day posy!

  3. Happy May Day to you too! I just finished the novel The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. Left it in Dallas for my daughter-in-love to read.
